Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, commercially driven Store Manager to lead our Nantucket location. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sales, developing a high-performing team, and executing the store’s overall business strategy. As a key partner to the business, you will own the day-to-day performance of the store—leading from the sales floor, overseeing operations, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. You will also play a critical role in building the store’s local presence through clienteling, partnerships, and events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial retail environment and is energized by both selling and leading.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Client Experience

Drive and exceed store sales goals through active selling and team leadership

Monitor daily, weekly, and seasonal sales performance; identify opportunities to exceed targets

Leverage multiple revenue streams, including walk-in traffic, client outreach, appointments, and events

Analyze sales performance and trends and and implement strategies to maximize performance
-
Coach the team to deliver a brand-led, personalized selling experience

Ensure every client interaction reflects the Ellsworth & Ivey standard of service
Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing sales team
-
Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve and exceed goals
-
Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback and performance management
-
Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative store culture
-
Lead by example on the sales floor, especially during peak periods
Operations & Business Management
-
Oversee daily store operations with a focus on efficiency and consistency
-
Create and manage staff schedules aligned with business needs
-
Ensure strong operational execution across POS, cash handling, and inventory processes
-
Oversee inventory management, including receiving, restocking, and stock organization
-
Own store-level reporting, performance recaps, and action planning
-
Ensure inventory accuracy at all times through consistent monitoring, cycle counts, and adhere to store procedures, supporting accurate reporting for the broader business teams

Partner with the buying team to provide ongoing feedback on product performance and client demand to influence assortment and drive sales
Visual Merchandising & Brand Execution

Uphold brand standards across merchandising, store presentation, and storytelling

Execute floor sets, product launches, and seasonal transitions

Maintain a polished, visually compelling, and on-brand environment
Events & Community Engagement

Own and drive the store’s local presence, positioning Ellsworth & Ivey as a key Nantucket destination

In partner with leadership plan and execute a calendar of in-store events, partnerships, and activations

Proactively build and maintain relationships with local businesses, hotels, clubs, and community partners to generate consistent traffic

Identify opportunities for collaborations, trunk shows, and local moments that drive both awareness and revenue

Act as a brand ambassador in the community, representing Ellsworth & Ivey with a high level of professionalism and energy

Track event performance including attendance, sales, and client acquisition

Drive client capture and retention from events, converting new customers into repeat clients
-
Partner with marketing to ensure events are supported across social, email, and in-store storytelling
Qualifications

4–7+ years of retail leadership experience, preferably in fashion or high-touch retail

Proven ability to drive sales and manage business performance
-
Experience recruiting and developing teams

Strong leadership and team development experience

Client-first mindset with a passion for personalized service

Comfortable analyzing business trends and adapting strategy

Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented

Work Environment:
This role requires flexibility, including opening and closing shifts. The position involves standing for extended periods, walking, and occasional lifting. The Store Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence and brand standards.
