Motivational Monday Vol. 01

This past week has been a sobering one for all of us, I think it would be naive to say that our lives will not be forever changed.  But tomorrow is a NEW/FRESH/BEAUTIFUL week, I challenge you to CHOOSE how you want this change to unfold in your life.  To be a conscious participant in your reactions to this change and the world around you.

I found myself a bit too in my head today and decided to take a bike ride and listen to Oprah's Super Soul Sunday Podcast. On the episode, they were talking about Newton's Third Law, which I'm sure you have heard of: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Essentially that we attract the same energy that we put out into the world.  If you act from a place of anger, you attract angry people, angry situations, etc.  I'm not one to preach "the power of positivity," I find it too simplified, to easy to set yourself up for failure if you think that if you just act/pretend to be positive all the time, then good things will happen.  That's just not how it works!

But in the podcast, the guest, Tom Shadya, said something that REALLY resonated with me.  He touched upon the word REACT and he broke it down to be "RE - ACT".  It's an opportunity to redo the act, the situation and actively CHOOSE how YOU want to NOW act. Because we always have the power to choose our reactions.

There is a lot of scary news out there right now, we are in the middle of a pandemic and it can feel hopeless, bleak, frightening.  Your reaction to it may be stress, anxiety, fear, anger, resentment, etc.  This is totally normal, I have been reacting this way too (perhaps I wrote this for myself ha)!  But I challenge you now to pause, and RE-ACT to everything going on. Instead of jumping towards negative reactions, perhaps you decide it's the moment to count everything you are grateful for, to appreciate how you're connecting with friends/family more than you have in years, to appreciate that you have food in your fridge right now, a roof over your head, to look at this as an opportunity to develop a new skill or hit a much needed reset, appreciate  that strangers/neighbors are connecting and helping each other in the most beautiful ways, to feel deep gratitude for anyone in or connected to the medical profession, for the grocery store clerks, the delivery workers and anyone on the front lines right now who are doing God's work, who are risking their lives so that we may continue ours. There is truly so much to be grateful for right now, if you just allow yourself to see it.

If you live from this place, if you RE-ACT from this place, I promise you the world will feel more vibrant, the tension weaker and the stress lighter.  If your RE-ACT-TION comes from this place, I promise you that you will attract abundance, because you must start from a place of abundance to attract abundance.  You must start from a place of love to attract love.  You must start from a place of joy to attract joy.

How you react right now could set up the course of your life.  You are beautiful, intelligent, fierce, strong women - take control of your course and your opportunity to RE-ACT.  And always remember, that if we choose, we can rise like a phoenix from the ashes.

We will get through this together!

xx Taylor
